Cookie policy

No cookies unless you ask for them. Here is precisely what this website stores on your device, when, and how to undo it.

Quick answer

This website sets no cookies at all unless you press Accept on the analytics banner. If you never do, nothing is stored and every page still works exactly the same.

By default

Zero cookies set

Your choice

Saved in localStorage, not a cookie

Analytics

Loads only after you accept

Advertising

No ad or tracking pixels, ever

Please read: this is a good-faith template, not legal advice.

This policy was written in good faith to describe how this website actually behaves and to reflect the consent requirements of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. It has not been reviewed by counsel and claims no certification or audited compliance. Have it checked by a qualified Indian data-protection lawyer, and re-check it whenever a new third-party script is added to the site.

1.The short version

  • Browse as much as you like — no cookie is written, no tracker runs, no profile is built.
  • The only optional thing is Google Analytics 4, and it loads only if you press Accept.
  • Your accept-or-reject decision is remembered in your browser's localStorage, which is not a cookie and is never sent to us.
  • You can withdraw consent with one button on this page, at any time, for any reason.
  • Rejecting changes nothing about how the site works for you.

2.This site sets no cookies by default

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and then sends back on every later request to that site. Cookies are how most sites recognise returning visitors — and how most tracking works.

Structural Engineering Services is a fully static website. There is no login, no shopping basket and no server-side session, so nothing on this site needs a cookie in order to function. We set none when you arrive, none while you read, and none when you submit an enquiry. The only cookies that can ever appear are the Google Analytics ones listed in section 6, and only after you have said yes.

3.Where your choice is stored

We still have to remember your answer, otherwise the banner would pester you on every page. We store it in your browser's localStorage rather than a cookie, which keeps our promise that no cookie is set by default.

KeyValuePurpose
ses.consent.analytics.v1granted or deniedRemembers your analytics decision so the banner is shown once, not on every page.

localStorage stays in your browser on your device. Unlike a cookie it is never attached to network requests, so this value is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. It contains one word, and no identifier of any kind.

4.What the site needs to work: nothing

Some sites describe tracking as “strictly necessary”. Ours genuinely is not. Every page here — services, locations, codes, resources, the quotation form — renders and submits without a single cookie or analytics request.

If you block all storage, use private browsing, or reject the banner, the only practical difference is that your decision is not remembered between visits, so the banner may appear again.

5.Google Analytics — only after you accept

If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC and its affiliates) to understand which pages engineers actually find useful, which services get read, and where the site is confusing.

  • No analytics script is downloaded, and no request goes to Google's analytics servers, until the moment you press Accept.
  • Analytics never receives your name, phone number, email address, project details or anything you typed into a form.
  • We configure the tag with IP anonymisation on, Google Signals off and ad personalisation off — measurement only, no advertising profile.
  • We use the data in aggregate, to improve the site. We do not try to identify individual visitors from it.

What it does record is ordinary measurement data: the pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, the referring site, and the time of the visit. Google retains that data under the property's own retention setting, currently GA4 DATA RETENTION — e.g. 14 months, and acts as our processor for it. Google may process it outside India — see the privacy notice on cross-border transfer.

6.What Google Analytics stores if you accept

These are the cookies that can appear on structuralengineeringservices.io — only after you accept. They are first-party cookies, written by the Google tag in your browser.

CookieSet byLifetimeWhat it is for
_gaGoogle Analytics 4About 2 yearsGenerates a random ID so repeat visits can be counted as one visitor rather than many.
_ga_<measurement id>Google Analytics 4About 2 yearsHolds the session state for this specific GA4 property — when your visit started and whether it is still running.
_gidGoogle Analytics24 hoursA short-lived visitor ID that some Google tag configurations still set. Removed with the others when you withdraw consent.

If you reject, or simply never answer the banner, none of the above is ever written.

8.Changing your mind: withdrawing consent

The DPDP Act requires that withdrawing consent be as easy as giving it. So it is one button, right here — no email, no form, no reason needed.

Withdraw analytics consent now

One click. It erases the stored preference on this device and deletes the Google Analytics cookies for structuralengineeringservices.io. The consent banner will ask again on your next visit, so you can change your mind back just as easily.

This button covers analytics only. To withdraw consent for an enquiry you have already sent us, email [email protected] — see the privacy notice.

Withdrawal takes effect immediately on this device and browser. It does not erase measurement data Google already collected before you withdrew; to ask about that, contact us using the details below.

9.Clearing the stored preference yourself

You can also clear everything yourself, without trusting any button on our site. Both the stored preference and any analytics cookies live in your browser, entirely under your control.

  • Clear the stored preference

Open your browser's developer tools, go to Application or Storage, find Local Storage for structuralengineeringservices.io, and delete the key ses.consent.analytics.v1.

  • Clear site data entirely

Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all offer a per-site option — usually under the padlock icon in the address bar, or Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data — that removes cookies and local storage for one site in a single step.

  • Block it before it starts

Your browser can block all cookies and storage for this site, or you can browse in a private window. The site works fine either way; the banner will simply ask again next time.

10.Other third-party requests this site makes

Cookies are not the only way a third party can see that you visited. In the interests of being straight with you, these are the only other external requests this site makes:

  • Google FontsThe typefaces used across the site are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. This sets no cookie, but it does mean your IP address and browser type reach Google when the font files are fetched, as with any externally hosted asset. It happens as part of rendering the page, not as a result of tracking.
  • The lead endpointA request is sent to our lead-capture provider only at the moment you submit an enquiry — never on page load. It carries the details you typed and sets no cookie in your browser.
  • WhatsApp, phone and email linksThese are plain links. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you click one and choose to start the conversation yourself.

Images, icons, stylesheets and scripts are all served from this site's own domain. There are no embedded videos, no social widgets, no chat SDKs from third parties and no advertising tags.

11.What we never do

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No cross-site or cross-device tracking.
  • No device fingerprinting or canvas tracking.
  • No social media pixels or like-buttons.
  • No selling or sharing of visitor data with data brokers.
  • No cookie walls — rejecting never blocks content.

12.Changes to this policy

If we ever add a tool that stores something on your device, we will list it here and ask for consent before it loads — not afterwards. The Last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
